I am working with Big Data Analytics for a while, my new role at work is to hire candidates in my team. Googled and found this book on amazon.com. The book arrived in a neatly packed box, opened the box and was impressed by the cover design. Had to finish reading this book ASAP as new interviews were already lined up in a week. This book had a few very very creative questions perfect for asking in an interview. Many questions are tricky and could easily confuse relatively inexperienced candidates. A lot of questions are for candidates who have less than 2 years of Big Data hands on experience. I like the variety in the question bank, but would have been great to see 50-100 more questions to make this a complete package. But for the price I paid for this, I am satisfied with the purchase.

Bought this one to check what's Hadoop Big Data!I have been keen to learn more about Big Data and Hadoop. Went to amazon, checked books on Hadoop, found this one was the cheapest amongst the lot and had decent reviews, so thought let me try this one. My aim behind this book purchase was to understand the concepts of Big Data and Hadoop, so I thought, a book in Q n A format would work the best as it be a light read. As expected, this is a very simple Q n A book, the HR questions towards the end were not required. Giving this 5 stars!

Most of the questions in this book focus on practical real life examples and scenarios.Chapter 1 introduces Big DATA and Hadoop concepts in concise yet comprehensive manner, this one includes a lot of theory.Chapter 2 onwards the author has mixed definitions along with real life scenario type questions very well. I like the way the whole book is organized.Must say someone who is going in for an interview or someone who doesn't know a thing about Big DATA, this ones for you! I will give this book a 5/5.PS: On reading the book further, I saw a couple of page formatting errors but I am going to ignore them and not change my * ratings.

Nice little book on Hadoop interview questions. I specially loved the variety and the range of questions. Most of the important concepts of Hadoop are covered in detail. Unique questions which may land up in any technical interview. Also realised this book is good enough if you want to change seats and be an interviewer yourself!

One of these saviors is Abdullah the beekeeper. For two years, starting in 2014, Mikhail worked with him from her home in Michigan to learn who these victims were, and how she could contact them.to record their stories first hand. In 2016 Mikhail returned to Iraq for a visit and met Abdullah at his area of work, and also some of the women she had interviewed earlier by telephone.During the last two years, many stories have appeared in the press concerning the barbaric way in which Daesh treated Yazidi women and how some of them were rescued. What makes this book special is hearing these stories directly from the victimized women themselves. In a sensitive, low key and lyrical style, Mikhail gives the background of each victim she had interviewed, followed by a verbatim recording of their telephone conversation. My main interest in this book was what will happen to the hundreds of millions forced to flee in the future because of the crash of civilization as oil declines, topsoil vanishes, sea levels rise, fresh water disappears, droughts / hurricanes / tornadoes / fires, invasive species and pests ruin crop production and a hundred other calamities occur in the future.But mainly oil decline will be at the root of it all, since with oil fires can be fought, water drilled down to a thousand or more feet below the surface, topsoil amended with natural gas fertilizers, pests crushed with oil-based pesticides, and so on. Fossil fuels allow 6.5 billion extra people to be alive today.Although this book is about Christian families in Iraq and their Muslim terrorist oppressors (the Daesh who call themselves the Islamic State, see wiki for more info), these atrocities are a common pattern I’ve seen in other books about what refugees go through. In the future even more civil wars will erupt everywhere that depends on oil in any way as resources and energy decline. Various groups will try to take control of regions and kill those not part of the in group.Basically what happens, and this occurs many times in the old testament of the bible, is that men and older women are killed, nubile women sold as wives, and children become slaves. But if it is done in God’s name, then it’s just fine, as this example shows: The Isralites war against Midian, and "slew every male". They take captive the women and children, and take all cattle, flocks and goods as loot, and burn all cities and camps. When they return to Moses, he is angered, and commands "Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman that hath known man by lying with him. But all the women children, that have not known man by lying with him, keep alive for yourselves" (Numbers 31).Those without a place to go, and water and food along the way often don’t make it. Many of them randomly knocked on doors seeking help and got it, though we don’t know about those who knocked on the wrong door and were turned in to their captors.

Such a heavy and sad subject but beautifully written and presented. This book gives us another picture, another dimension on the tragedies in the Middle East and just how much the human spirit can take.Not a long book but I could only read one story at a time because it was just so hard to discover what these women went through.

I am deeply tormented by the inconceivable cruelty described in this book. How does one find any patience to ever again read fiction?
